Need a new JVC remote control?

Please note that some JVC remotes come in two versions:

Original - This is identical to the remote you originally received with your device. Unlike some cheaper replicas out there, we only sell genuine JVC controls direct from the manufacturer.

Alternative - This is a remote made by "Classic" which is purpose-built for your device. It has all of the functionality of the original but without the same physical appearance, and works out of the box with no programming required.

JVC, the full name being Victor Company of Japan Ltd, was founded in Yokohama, Japan in 1927. With a company of that age, it's no surprise that they manufactured some of the very first televisions for the domestic market.

Interestingly, JVC also created the VHS format that went on to battle against Sony's Betamax in the "videotape format war" in the 70s and 80s. While Sony is now one of the undisputed kings of the television market, at least JVC claimed an historical victory that shaped the early stages of home recording.

Through a range of acquisitions and mergers, JVC is now a subsidairy, but the brand is still alive and well in the audiovisual market. Currys, in particular, now stocks many of the latest JVC televisions with full HD and smart technology. These new ranges, in combination with older models that still adorn homes across the UK, mean that we continue to sell hundreds of replacement JVC remote controls to our customers.

Choosing the right JVC remote control

While we stock some original JVC remote controls that will give you an identical replacement, we also stock alternatives made by Classic. They have all the same functionality as your original JVC remote, and do not require any programming or setup. Some customers even prefer them to the originals. This range also allows us to continue selling replacement remotes for JVC devices that may have discontinued production some time ago.
